About the Area

Enjoy a day of sight-seeing. Bask in the great wilderness of BC. Vancouver Island has adventures and attractions around every turn. Riverside Resort is conveniently located at the heart of everything.

Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park

Located at 4001 Alberni Hwy, Qualicum Beach, BC B9K 1X7, Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park happens to be one of our most treasured attractions where you can venture out to see the entire southern part of the grand Cameron Lake. There are also many great walking paths to spend time with your family or furry friend.

Cathedral Grove - MacMillan Provincial Park

Check out one of the biggest landmarks on Vancouver Island where you will find some of the largest and most ancient trees in all of North America. Cathedral Grove or MacMillan Provincial Park is a 301-hectare provincial park in British Columbia, Canada. Located 25 km west of Qualicum Beach and 16 km east of Port Alberni, the park straddles Highway 4 and the Island Rail Corridor in central Vancouver Island. (George Lucas shot scenes for Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi here!)

Cameron Lake

Located 15 km east of Port Alberni, on the north side of Highway 4. It has an area of 477 hectares and an elevation of 184 metres above sea level. The lake is between Mount Arrowsmith to the south and Mount Wesley to the north. Clear waters and vast landscapes will leave you and your family with a breathtaking experience. Relax on their rocky beaches and have lunch on one of their picnic tables.

Golfing Vancouver Island

Where else in Canada can you go for a downhill ski in the morning and golf 9 holes in the afternoon? Only on Vancouver Island. Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you have to put the clubs away; get a great deal on a fall golf getaway.

Little Qualicum Cheeseworks

Visit Morningstar Farm, home of Little Qualicum Cheeseworks and MooBerry Winery, where you can sample hand crafted artisan cheeses and award-winning wines. Self-guided tours of their heritage dairy farm are welcome during hours of operation, and don’t forget to browse the unique giftware selection in the Farmgate store.

Tiger Lily Farm

Barnyard & Trail Rides offers a quality hands on experience featuring traditional  horseback rides. Ride through scenic forested trails; a great way to spend quality time with the family!

Horne Lake Caves

Horne Lake Caves offers visitors the chance to experience the magic of the underground world, above or below ground. Daily tours range from easy family tours to wild/extreme expeditions. Book a day trip with your family.

Coombs - Old Country Market

A superb reflection of the mid-island vibe, the Old Country Market is known world-wide for its goats on the roof, but that is just a fraction of what they have to offer. With its own restaurant, bakery and deli, there is no end to the sights to see and things to taste. There you will find an endless amount of unique produce in their grocery store. Outside the market, you will find a rich network of unique, private shops. Perfect for a family day outing.

Blackbird Schnitzel Haus

Amazing atmosphere, staff, and a wonderful home-like setting; the food here will make your heart warm and your mouth melt. Ranked number #2 out of 27 restaurants in Qualicum Beach!
